Ultra Flexible LED Ribbon Strip - 30mm Wide - 1 Meter long - Cool White ~6000K
The Ultra Flexible LED Ribbon Strip (Cool White, 1m) features 1600 COB LEDs on a 30mm-wide flexible PCB with diffused silicone coating. Powered at 20ā24V, it offers cuttable 25mm segments, PWM dimming support, and high brightness output.
There's never an end to the cool shapes and designs that we see folks cram LEDs into. We've got individual LEDs,Ā strips,Ā rings,Ā and evenĀ LED 'Neon'. One shape that's always been a challenge is emulating the flat appearance ofĀ EL tape. ThisĀ Ultra Flexible LED Ribbon StripĀ isĀ 30mm Wide and comes in aĀ 1-meter-long strip of cool white LEDs. Soldered to the flexible PCB material are 1600 micro chip-on-board (COB) LEDs, spaced on a 3x5mm grid, which is then covered by a protective diffused silicone coating.
Usage is simple: Provide 20 to 24V power to the + and - pads on the strip (we ship with some wires pre-soldered). 20V will be bright, 24V is the max voltage and is 'hella' bright! You can easily cut the strip into smaller chunks; each one is 25mm long. If you want to dim/brighten, use a PWM signal on aĀ power MOSFET like our Stemma board.
As you can imagine, with hundreds of LEDs per strip, you'll need a significant amount of power to light them up fully. Each 25mm 'segment' requires 24V and approximately 42mA, a full meter will need 1.7 Amps at 24V!Ā We stock a 24V power supply that can light up one meter.
Note, these are not 'NeoPixel' LED strips; you cannot turn on or off individual LEDs.Ā This guide on analog RGB LED strip control will show you how it works - you'll want a microcontroller with a PWM output, and an N-MOSFET or a ULN2803 to control the power to the entire LED element.
